Olympic Torch Protests in San Francisco, 2008.

Recently I was up in San Francisco to visit family.  It wasn't planned but I was flying out the same day that the Olympic Torch was supposed to be in the city.  My wife and I got into the city early and headed down to the Embarcadero along the torch route.  There were thousands of people there protesting several things.  I saw people protesting China for it's dealings with Tibet, Burma, Vietnam, some part of Western China, and Darfur.  In the end the torch never showed up because they changed the route at the last minute to avoid all of the protesters.  It was still amazing and I'm glad I was able to see the spectacle.  Here are some pictures I took while I was there.  (Click images for larger version.)
